NEWS

                                                       June 2017

Filton Community Association are extremely happy to have been awarded a generous donation from the John James Bristol Foundation. We feel lucky to have even been considered, and are very grateful to the John James Bristol Foundation for their continuing efforts to improve the area and continue the philanthropy demonstrated by Mr James.

The funds will contribute greatly to the ongoing refurbishment at the centre, helping to replace our aging toilet facilities at long last.

A big thank you to all at John James Bristol Foundation.

                                                       May 2017

Filton Community Association are delighted to announce a generous donation from the Garfield Weston Foundation. The funds will contribute a significant portion of that required to complete refurbishment of the downstairs toilet facilities at the Community Centre, bringing improvements to the habitability, sustainability and efficiency of the building as well as providing a great boost to our overall outlook. We are excited to begin the works this summer, thanks to the Garfield Weston Foundation.

The Garfield Weston Foundation is a family-founded grant-making trust established in 1958.  Since it began the Foundation has donated over £960 million to charities across the UK.  In the last financial year, the Foundation donated over £60 million.  From small community organisations to large national institutions, the Foundation supports a broad range of charities and activities that make a positive impact in the communities in which they work.  Over 1,500 charities across the UK benefit each year from the Foundation’s grants.

FUNDING BOOST FOR FILTON COMMUNITY CENTRE

Filton Community Association is delighted to have received £20,000 thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

The funding boost from Postcode Local Trust will enable us to emrbace the future with a renewable energy system, starting with solar panels installed on the Main Hall roof.

Oliver, the Administrator said: “This has been fantastic news for the community centre. We are really looking forward to reducing our utility usage and increasing our sustainability, for the benefit of the whole community. We are extremely grateful to the Postcode Local Trust and the players of the Postcode Lottery. Thank you all. ”

Postcode Local Trust exists to fund community groups and charitable organisations through a variety

of grant giving programmes. To do so, the Trust relies solely on funding from the proceeds of ticket

sales from People’s Postcode Lottery. When you sign up to play People’s Postcode Lottery, your

postcode is your ticket. It costs £10 for 10 draws paid monthly in advance with prizes every day.

A minimum of 27.5% goes directly to charities across Great Britain and internationally.

Postcode Local Trust is a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode

Lottery. Please click the logo above to go to their website www.postcodelocaltrust.org.uk and read about their work and funding.
